In order to gain some attention for my upcoming Coastal Run, a run dedicated to sea conservation and sustainability, I decided to take a unique approach in marketing.
As an employee of Bamboo Sushi, the world’s first sustainable sushi restaurant, I thought it best to utilize their values in hopes to get them to rally behind my run. To get the word out, running to all six locations of Bamboo Sushi in Portland was going to be my pitch.
Bamboo Sushi Odyssey
While on the run, I handed out stickers to every location of Bamboo, to people on the street who had curiosity in their eyes, and even to employees at Powell’s as I ran through. With each sticker came a spiel of the Coastal Run. A self-promoting troubadour, handing out stickers like tickets to a show. A performer in motion leaving a trail of intrigue.
The Route
Cedar Hills → NW → SW → NE → SE → Lake Oswego.
Meet the Team
Accumulating up to 25 miles, I finished at Lake Oswego with a warm welcome from my coworkers.
